Here comes the mandatory first post...
...Though it is not the first. I already have a blog in Spanish (my mother tongue, so apologies in advance for my mistakes writing in English). Also, please mind that the date in every post would be the date in which I posted originally in my other blog, so don't be confused, you have not (yet) traveled in time.
Moñacos, cosicas y meriendacenas (my primary blog) has been online since 2011. It started as a hobby, something that I don't know I'd love so much and it would be such a part in my life. I started making felt brooches for my friends and family but once I discovered amigurumi and crocheting... I could not stop.
I'd like to try now to share my work and passion with the world and not only with Spanish speakers . So this would be my other blog's twin blog.
Why Geekurumi? Because this is what I like to think I do: Geeky amigurumi. Just in case you may not know amigurumi is the Japanese technique of crochet (or knit) stuffed animals or human characters. So I tend to crochet characters from TV series, films, games... you name it. And also...because it's impossible for me to translate the meaning of the original name into English :S
I will not post here in this blog ALL the things I already post in Spanish, I'll try to translate the ones that I think may interest you (I hope they do!).
About me, let me tell you that I started sewing in January 2011 and crocheting in May 2011. Now when I look back, I can see the difference in my work and I'm kinda proud of the evolution. I'd like this to be an example for all the people who say "I cannot do that" that in fact "yes, you can, all it takes is practice and patience".
Last, as I don't want to bore you to death before starting posting anything, let me say some thanks:
@ To all the people who encouraged me to start crafting and posting what I made.
@ To all those who trust in my work as gifts for their loved ones (or just for themselves)
@ To Silvia, who tough me how to sew and crochet (and be patient with the learning process)
@ To Carlos, my husband, who loves me so much that he thinks I should show my work to the world, thus, this blog.
I hope you like my crafting and that you come here regularly. I love to find out about other blogs and crocheters/crafters, so feel free to comment, write or email me anytime!
Happy crocheting!
