Malefice

Posted by Laura (Moñacos, Cosicas y Meriendacenas) at 9:18 AM 5 comments

The Sleeping Beauty was one of my favorite movies when I was younger. I'm not sure why, but Disney villains had always attracted me and Malefice was my favorite among them. She is one of the greatest bad guys, don't you think?

And admit it: she rocks that gothic look in purple and black:

So, long story short, I wanted to make a Malefice mini doll

My version has a sweeter face, she doesn't look evil at all:

It's made without a pattern (Laura goes freestyle again!) and she has a felt cape. I hope you like her!

Swaps

Posted by Laura (Moñacos, Cosicas y Meriendacenas) at 1:31 PM 0 comments

One of the things I like the most about meeting new crafter people are swaps. My experience in swaps has been great so far. I'll be making swaps over and over! I really enjoy making something the other person may like, pack it nicely... and of course, I love receiving their presents in return! Here there are some of them:

Remember the Little Red Riding Hood I showed you before? It was made for a swap with Cosinas de Petri. I fell in love with the brooches and rings she makes, so she sent me those you see here in oranges and greens. I love the combination, don't you?

As I showed you in the previous entry, she asked me for a little doll brooch of her favorite tale character: Little Red Riding Hood. I sent her one made with the amigurumi technique and another one in felt, so she could switch between both to wear.

Thank you Patricia, I love your accessories, I wear them all the time!

Other swaps :

To swap with another crafter I made this pocketed scissor case in lilac and purple felt.  I also made a matching pincushion (though in the picture does not look as purple, I swear it matches the case!)

I added a green yoyo and a colorful button as a decoration:

And finally, another swap. I did this bus card case for Silvia. She wanted a Prinny design in hammas in it, and so I tried to do. Since it ended up being a little too big for just the card, she will use it as a case for her phone or digital camera.

In return, she gave me this wonderful amigurumi Stitch (she knows how much I love that movie). Look how cute he is... I just love it!

Little Red Riding Hood

Now this little one is already at her new owner's home I can show it to you.  I made a swap with Patricia from Cosinas de Petri. She asked me for a Little Red Riding Hood she could wear as a brooch ....and here it is:

I'm very proud of her, she's the first doll that I made without following any pattern od modifying one.  Oh! And you can remove her hood!

Here she is  on her way to Granny's home:

Details of the braids and the body:

I'm so glad her new owner loved it, I'm proud of the results.
I hope you like it!
Espero que os guste!

Inspired by others

Posted by Laura (Moñacos, Cosicas y Meriendacenas) at 4:47 PM 0 comments
I have been inspired by some other bloggers like Moon Creations, who create wonderful and recognizable characters in a minimalist rabbit design. I wanted to make little simple amigurumis that could be use as a keychain. I tried some Disney designs first  ...

Here's Pluto, with his green collar and felt ears:

And here's Alice!  The skin color is not the perfect one (I didn't have flesh color) but it did not turned out that but, did she?

Here she is in her improvised Wonderland...

Also inspired by other bloggers, I made my boyfriend a Lemming. Do you remember that game?
The pattern used is June's creation, who generously shares it in her blog Planet June. I strongly recommend you visit her site, it is full of great tips, tutorials and patterns!

Here's my lemming:

First attempt with fuzzy yarn, it was terribly difficult at first, but with June's tips became easier.

I hope you like them
Who inspires you?

Clementino the Chameleon

This is my most recent amigurumi. I found the loveliest chameleon in a google search and I wanted to make one. The pattern for it was created by my craft teacher  Silvia in just one afternoon and just by looking at the pic I showed her! She is just the best.

I don't know why I have named it Clementino, he just has the face for that name. The eyes are made of felt and I think that it makes him likes sweeter, don't you think?

Look at this face...

I'm very happy with him and he was really fun to crochet.

Do you like Clementino the chameleon?

Freddie Mercury Making-off (part 2)

And I finished my  Freddie doll  at last!

Jacket is a little too short, but like this you can see the tshirt.

At least I have learned a few things making this doll that I'll take into account for the next one:

1- Don't cut the felt without a sewing allowance for later.
2- Clothes pieces should be larger than just the doll outline
3- Don't make Freddie look like Ned Flanders.

But as I told you before in this blog, you have to love them just the way they are :)
