Some felt commissions

Today I want to show you some felt commission I had not shown yet here.  I apologize in advance for some of the pictures, I  had another camera and as you can see, neither it was a very good one nor was I a skilled photographer.

A Patrick Star brooch :

And a Squidward Tentacles keychain:

Buttercup from Powerpuff Girls (sorry! I don't know why this pics look so dark!) :

A chibi Cthulhu... so cruel and so cute at the same time!

Look behind you! A three-headed monkey!

Posted by Laura (Moñacos, Cosicas y Meriendacenas) at 3:36 AM 6 comments

This is my geeky amigurumi of the week. Maybe you recognized him: This is Guybrush Threepwood, the protagonists of the Monkey Island video game saga .

When I started to show people the kind of dolls I made,  guys (I can mention here Dani, Alb, Edu...) told me " you should do a Guybrush, you should do a Guybrush"".  Well, done. In this case is for my friend Dani, whom I owed a lemming since I don't know when. So instead of that I made this doll which I knew he'd like better. You know, to make it up for the lateness.

Here are some pics:

He has eyebrows and a prominent nose. The goatee and the forelock were tricky, but I think they ended up ok. I don't know which color  the pixelated eyes of  Guybrush are, so I decided blue suited him well..

I tried hard to make the body and clothes very detailed without using felt. Everything is crocheted or embroidered. I'm really happy with the results. I made him in the Monkey Island II outfit since it was Dani's favorite. Here are some pics of the original for reference:

Sorry if it sounds wrong, but I think is one of my best works to date.

I hope you like it and that you tell me what you think of him!

PS: Maybe in the future I will crochet something like this three headed monkey, so freaky and cute:

Mulder and Scully

Posted by Laura (Moñacos, Cosicas y Meriendacenas) at 7:05 AM 10 comments

These chibi dolls were a gift for a friend who is a huge X-Phile (X files fan). She recognized them on the spot, I feel very proud of it hehehe.

I was a huge fan of this series too and I have a great time doing these amigurumi. I wanted Scully to have her classic hair cut. And of course Mulder has green eyes and Dana's are blue.

Mulder wears a blue tie because when I was designing the doll he looked like this in my mind.

He also has Duchovny's  characteristic (and sexy) nose

Dr Scully and her red medium-short haircut

I'm glad Judith liked them. It was hard to let them go...just as the characters in the series. Mulder and Scully are probably the fictional characters I miss the most, I'm not sure why.

Please, tell me what you think!

Brain Slug from Futurama

Posted by Laura (Moñacos, Cosicas y Meriendacenas) at 12:56 PM 1 comments
Today I want to show you another Futurama related amigurumi that I made long long time ago and that I almost forgot about. Do you remember brain slugs? There was an episode in which these parasites sticked to human heads to control their thoughts and actions.

This slug was one of my first amigurumi. It was really fun and easy to make

I have the intention of sewing it to a headband, it's a perfect last minute Halloween costume  idea!

You can find the pattern for this mini slug and for a bigger one in Hook and Needles

I hope you like it!!

Nibbler

Posted by Laura (Moñacos, Cosicas y Meriendacenas) at 8:21 PM 0 comments

I always found Nibbler adorable. He is Leela's alien pet in Futurama. For those who doesn't know him:

Long time ago I saw this pattern. I loved it but I wanted to do a smaller version. My friend Silvia helped me adapting the pattern to make it smaller. I also improvised with the cape and the diaper. And here's the result.

He's so cute!

More sailor senshi to the rescue!

The sailor senshi amigurumi group is growing! I just finished Ami (Mercury) and Minako (Venus).

I want to make a decent blog post when all of them are finished, but let me give you a preview...
